Alumni Advancement Board

Mission

The mission of the Space Camp®/Aviation Challenge® Alumni Advancement Board (AAB) is to support the mission and vision of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Foundation, to participate in outreach, development and fundraising endeavors to support the projects and mission of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, and to serve as stewards to the alumni community of graduates from Space Camp, Aviation Challenge and related programs.

Background

In December 2013, a small, self-directed steering group of Space Camp and Aviation Challenge program alumni, along with U.S. Space & Rocket Center staff alumni set out on a mission to pull ALL alumni together from the 32-year history of Space Camp to communicate, catch-up and collaborate.

After its creation, the steering committee conducted an international search for motivated alumni to serve on the AAB. The search concluded in February 2014 with the selection of ten (10) board members. In addition to these members, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and the Space Camp Hall of Fame are represented by ex officio members on the AAB.

The AAB and its members are not agents of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, but simply former Space Camp trainees and staff who are inspired by their experiences and want to give back.
